How to GET STARTED !!.

The following is a complete step by step guide for opening your advertiser account, then to add and activate your property listings.

There are four main steps.

A. Register and validate your advertiser account.
B. Add your property details
C. Activate/Pay your property listing
D. Submit Photos for your property listing.
 
 
 

Step A. Register and validate your advertiser account.

All landlords first sign up and validate an advertiser account. You do this at 
http://www.1000topvacationrentals.com/signup.html

You will be asked to provide your basic contact details and email address.
We will use this information to contact you.

At the moment you submit your information an email is immediately sent to you. 
We wish to verify that you have not mistyped your email address. So the last step in opening your
landlord account is for you to receive the email we sent to you and then to use the  enclosed
18 digit "validation code" that is written there to validate and open your advertiser account. 
Highlight and  copy the 18 digit validation code
then click on  http://www.1000topvacationrentals.com/cgi-bin/user.cgi?validate=1
and paste the validation code in the space provided, then click on "Validate Account". 

If the 18 digit validation code has been copied correctly you will see
"Thank you, your account is now activated!"

You can now log in at any time using the user name and password that you chose earlier.

If you did not receive the email with the 18 digit validation code, then you have probably
mistyped your email address, and should contact us to check.

Note: You may have also received a different message from us with a 9 character "promotional code". 
The 9 character "promotional code" and the "validation code" are completely different, 
have completely different uses and are not interchangeable.

Note: You need only to register and open your advertiser account one time. Under the your one advertiser account you can list as many properties as you want. The above Step A only needs to be accomplished once per landlord/advertiser. The following Steps B to C need to be accomplished for each property you wish to list. 
 
 
 
 

B. Add your property details

Log in using the user name and password that you chose earlier.

To log in at any time, visit http://www.1000topvacationrentals.com/
and find the green navigation bar near the top of the page. There click on 
"Advertiser Login".

Or log in directly at http://www.1000topvacationrentals.com/cgi-bin/user.cgi

After you have logged in you will see a new yellow navigation bar.

Click on "Add Property".  This will show you a form, where you can supply 
details on your property, ie size, beds, costs, description, amenities, and so on.
After you have supplied much information as you can, scroll down to the 
bottom of the page and click the button labeled "Add Listing". By clicking that button
the information you typed is saved.

Note: If after you log in, when you click on "Add Property" or "Modify" you see a message saying "You must first log in".
This means that your browser or security software is set too restrictively in how it handles cookies. For details on how to

C. Activate/Pay your property listing

Log in using the user name and password that you chose earlier.

On the yellow navigation bar click on "Activate/Pay". On the next page you will see the title of each property you have submitted, and a box labeled "promotional code".

Next to each property listing is a small box. Select the property you want to activate by clicking on the small box, until you see a small check visible in the box. If you have more than one listing you can tick them all and activate all at the same time.

If you have received a 9 character promotional code. Type it in the box labeled "promotional code".
Note: the 9 character promotional code should be typed all in lower case, and this is not the same as
the 19 digit validation code used to open your advertiser account. If you have not received a 9 character
promotional code then leave the "promotional code" box blank.

Once properties have been selected, and the promotional code entered (optional), then click on "Activate Online".

Then fill in the details and click on the button at the bottom of the page labeled  "Activate/Pay". Once done your
property listing will be made visible asap usually within 24 hours.

Note: If you are paying for your property listing using check or cash, then instead of using the "Activate Online" method, you
should click on "Activate Via Mail" this will provide you with a page that you can print out then mail together with your payment.
 
 
 

D. Submit Photos for your property listing.

Your property listing can be visible and working for you even without photos. However your listing will be more effective if it includes good quality photos that "tell a story" about your property.

We will publish digital images that are saved in the jpeg (jpg) format, with a resolution of 150 dpi, and sized 300-320 pixels wide and 200-250 pixels high.You are welcome to send us images that are larger, and that are of a higher resolution. We will modify the images to fit the web pages. Please DO NOT send images that are smaller than 300 wide and 200 tall, as these will look out of focus when they are expanded to meet our minimum size requirements.Larger is better, we can always shrink photos and make them look good, but rarely can we expand photos with good results. 
 

1.Send photos attached to an email.
2.Transfer them directly from your computer to our server
3.Tell us where the photos are located
4. Mail prints for us to scan

1.Send as Email attachment. Send an email to info@topvacationrentals.com, with your photos attached.Be sure to name each photo with your property listing number and the location letter of the photo.For example, if your property listing number is 600 send us photos named 600a.jpg, 600b.jpg,600c.jpg,600d.jpg,600e.jpg, and 600f.jpg. If your email program will not send all at one time, you can instead send two or three separate emails, each one with one photo attached. In the text of your email be sure to write
your name, the property name and the property listing number.

2.Transfer your digital image directly from your computer to our computer.

3.Tell us where on the web the photos are. If your photos are already visible on the web somewhere, then send us the exact address (url) where the photo can be found and indicate which position A-F where they should be installed.

Netscape users: To find out the url of your photo, just place the cursor over the photo at your website, right click, then select "view image", this should show you your selected photo only in the browser window. Look at the browser location line, it will show you the url of he photo. Highlight and copy the url.

Internet Explorer users: To find out the url of your photo, just place the cursor over the photo at your website, right click, then select 
"Properties". Then find "Address/Url". Highlight and copy the url.
